Shipping Corporation of India sets sail after strong Q1 result
The company declared its results during trading hours today, 30 July 2010. Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 78.54 points, or 0.44% at 17,913.46. On BSE, 2.67 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against an average daily volume of 53,402 shares in the past one quarter. The stock hit a high of Rs 165.40 and a low of Rs 160.50 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 181.90 on 19 January 2010 and a 52-week low of Rs 121.55 on 12 August 2009. The mid-cap stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 29 July 2010, rising 0.12% as compared to the Sensex's return of 2.61%. It had also underperformed the market in the past one quarter, sliding 2.27% as compared to the Sensex's 2.79% rise. The company has an equity capital of Rs 423.45 crore.
