Alstom T&D India has been awarded a turnkey Fixed Series Compensation (FSC)
contract worth around Rs 650 million by Power Grid Corporation of India
(PGCIL) to improve power quality on the 400 kV Wardha - Aurangabad
transmission network. The contract marks yet another milestone in Alstom`s
strong partnership with PGCIL to upgrade the existing transmission
infrastructure in the country.
Alstom will deliver the project on a turnkey basis, including design,
engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing & commissioning of
the FSC system. Under the contract, Alstom will supply capacitors, spark
gaps, as well as control and instrumentation systems and an insulated
platform. The project will be executed by Alstom T&D India and Alstom Grid
Finland and is scheduled for commissioning in 2014.

India, using +/- 800 kV 3000 MW Ultra High Voltage Direct Current (UHVDC)
technology.
The scope of work includes overall project management, studies, design,
engineering, training, manufacture, civil works at site, erection, site
testing and commissioning. The main Alstom units involved in the project
will be the HVDC Centre of Excellence in Stafford (UK) and the Alstom T&D
India units located at Noida, Hosur, Padappai, Pallavaram and Vadodara in
India.
Alstom T&D India`s share in the contract would be approximately Euro 160
million (Rs 1080 crore). |

the GIS substation at Padghe and the 765 kv substation at Aurangabad in the
state of Maharasthra.

Alstom T&D India has successfully charged three Switchyard Bays at 765 kV
and 400 kV each, in March 2012 in a record time of less than eight months,
for Power Grid Corporation of India. Power Grid, the country`s central
transmission utility, awarded the contract worth Rs 196 crore to Alstom T&D
India in February 2010. Due to delay in land acquisition the company could
start work on the 765 kV switchyard in July 2011.
The scope of work included design, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing
and commissioning of 765 kV, 400 kV and 220 kV equipments, comprising
complete civil work for their green field project at Bhiwani in the State
of Haryana, India.
This Bhiwani switchyard is considered as a nodal switchyard for wheeling
power from independent power producers in northern India and strengthening
the transmission system in the northern region of the country. The
switchyard shall cater to various other 765 kV switchyards in northern
India namley Moga, Jhatikara, Meerut and Jaipur. |

Alstom T&D India has been awarded a contract worth Rs 96 crore from
Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission (MSETCL), for the erection,
testing and commissioning of a 400/220 kV Gas-insulated Substation in the
Hinjewadi district of Pune, in Maharashtra state. The contract will also
include associated civil work for the substation.
Hinjewadi is the emerging IT centre of Maharashtra and planned
infrastructure development is increasing the demand for power. The GIS
substation, having a transformation capacity of 7x167 MVA will help in
meeting the energy demands of the area while eradicating land scarcity
issues, as GIS technology allows the substation to be more compact. The GIS
substations are highly reliable and help to reduce pollution. Alstom T&D
India was the first company in the country to localise GIS technology up to
400 kV at its manufacturing facility in Padappai, (Chennai), in southern
India. |

Areva T&D India has delivered a National Load Dispatch Center (NLDC) as
part of a Rs 17.20 crore contract with Bhutan Power Corporation (BPC). This
represents the third largest national control center delivered by Areva T&D
India in the region.
The project established a coordinated network management and control system
between existing BPC substations, the Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC),
other generating stations and the Indian national grid. Under the terms of
the contract, Areva T&D India delivered its world-leading e-terra suite of
network management software applications to enable BPC to improve power
reliability and stability, and better utilize power surplus. The software
will also coordinate Bhutan`s power exchange with the rest of the Indian
grid. The fuly automated energy management system has a scalable
architecture that will allow BPC to easily adapt new smart grid
technologies as needed.

of the demerger in terms of the scheme of arrangement duly sanctioned by

Stock Exchnage(s) on 02 December 2011. Following the demerger as a part of
reconstitution of the board, three of the directors viz., Alexandre Tagger,
Anil Chaudhry and Vinod Kumar Dhall have tendered the resignations, which
were accepted by the board.
The board also took note that in terms of the scheme of arrangement for
demerger as approved by Hon`ble High Courts of Delhi & Gujarat, the
services of C S Ashok Kumar, company secretary, is required to be
transferred to the transferee company viz. Smartgrid Automation
Distribution and Switchgear (now known as Schneider Electric

The award presented to Areva T&D India was for the successful delivery of
1200 kV Capacitor Voltage Transformer (CVT) to POWERGRID for its National

Power Grid is in the process of establishing a 1,200 kV ultra high voltage
AC transmission system at Bina. This development will facilitate field
testing of equipment before deploying the technology for commercial

voltage transformer (CVTs), disconnections and digital current
transformers. All these high end products have been developed, manufactured

The scope of work includes supply and installation of electrical balance of

T&D India will manufacture and install a 400 KV gas insulated substation
