Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) in its joint venture Samsung C&T
Corporation has been awarded a contract worth Rs 866 crore by the Delhi
Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for design and construction of 4.4 km long
tunnel on Janakpuri West-Kalindi Kunj Corridor under phase III of the metro
development.
This is the fifth contract being awarded to HCC by DMRC. HCC and Samsung
are 50:50 partners in the joint venture and HCC is the leader of the joint
venture. The project will be completed in 39 months.

Valuing Rs 231 crore
Hindustan Construction Company, a leading infrastructure construction and
development company in joint venture with Coastal Projects, has been
awarded a project by Northeast Frontier Railway to develop a railway tunnel
between Kaimai Road and Kambiron Road stations on the new railway line
being developed between Jiribam and Tupur in Imphal. The total cost of the
project is Rs 230.98 crore (HCC share 60% - Rs 138.59 crore) and will be
completed in 28 months.
The project scope involves construction of single line broad gauge tunnel
of approximate length of 4.9 km including earthwork, slope protection &
stabilization, RCC portal walls, permanent tunnel support, construction of
side drains, rock supporting system and ancillary work.
This is third order received by HCC from Northeast Frontier Railway on the
new railway line between Jiribam and Tupur. The first order was to
construct a 3.25 km tunnel between Dholakal and Kaimai Road stations and
second order was to a 3.3 km tunnel between Kambiron Road and Thingou
stations. HCC is also constructing the 4.315 kms long Bogibeel Rail-cum-
road bridge over river Brahmaputra near Dibrugarh, Assam for Northeast
Frontier Railway.
In the transportation segment, HCC has a strong track record in
construction of roads, highways, bridges, railways and MRTS (mass rapid
transportation system). HCC has already constructed 2227 km roads across
the country. In the MRTS space, the company has executed the Kolkata and
sections of Delhi metro rail project. HCC has also executed the most
challenging 16 kms Ghat section of Mumbai-Pune expressway, the first ever 6
lane concrete pavment access controlled express way in India. It has built
nearly 173 road bridges, the combined length of which would be
approximately 47 kms. |

Hindustan Construction Company (HCC), a leading infrastructure construction
and development company has secured its third contract worth Rs 373 crore
from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The latest contract is for
design and construction of 2.2km twin tunnel between Shalimar Baug and
Netaji Subhash Place stations on the Mukundpur-Yamuna Vihar Corridor, under
Phase III of the Delhi Metro.
The contract is to be executed within a period of 36 months and the scope
of work includes design & construction of twin tunnel between Shalimar Baug
and Netaji Subhash Place stations by Shield TBM, twin box tunnel (cut &
cover tunnel), underground ramp and architectural finishing of Shalimar
Baug (underground station) and Netaji Subhash Place (semi-underground).
This is the third contract being awarded to HCC by DMRC. The company has
constructed package C1 and C6 of the Airport Express line, a complex
underground route as part of its earlier contracts. Package C1 included a
2.2km long twin bored tunnel and a 1.3km cut and cover tunnel through the
VIP areas of the national capital while package C6 involved 2.6km long NATM
tunnel. The route alignment for this Metro line passed below various
heritage structures and buildings of national importance. The tunneling
depth below the Rajiv Chowk Metroi Station at 44m was the deepest ever for
the Delhi Metropolitan Region, going below two existing lines.
HCC was also instrumental in completing the 4142m long Delhi metro section
from North of Vishwa Vidyalaya Station (inclusive) to South end of ISBT
Station (inclusive) of the Metro Corridor by cut and cover method. |

contract is Rs 884 crore. The project has to be completed in 60 months.
The company has secured another order, with a value of Rs 650 crore, is an
EPC contract from HCC Concessions, a subsidiary of Hindustan Construction
Company in respect of the contract for six laning of a section of NH-8
between Vadodara and Surat, which was awarded to HCC Concessions by
National Highways Authority of India.

GmbH, Germany and VNR Infrastructures has received Rs 987 crore order from
Northeast Frontier Railway to construct the superstructure of Bogibeel
Rail-cum-road Bridge over river Brahmaputra near Dibrugarh, Assam in India.
HCC share in this order is 51%, DSD Brouckenbau GmbH (20%) and VNR
Infrastructures (29%).
Bogibeel Rail-cum-road Bridge will be a double decked bridge having two
railway tracks on the lower deck and a 3 lane road on the upper deck. The
road level will be 10.5 meters above the railway line. The total length of
the bridge will be 4.315 kms. This will be the fourth largest bridge in the
country and the longest bridge over the mighty Brahmaputra River. |

At 10.96 km long, the Pir Panjal Railway Tunnel is India`s longest and
Asia`s 2nd longest tunnel, aimed at reducing the travel distance between
Quazigund to Banihal to only 11 km and providing a hassle free travel up to
Baramulla. |

Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) in a joint venture (JV) with Alstom
has bagged a prestigious contract worth Rs 1843 crore from THDC India to
construct Tehri Pumped storage plant in Tehri, Uttarakhand. This is an
Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract wherein HCC`s
share is Rs 701 crore and the project is to be completed in 54 months.
The scope of the work involves construction of head race tunnel, surge
shaft, penstocks, underground powerhouse, ventilation systems gallery, bus
bar gallery & cavern, drainage gallery, access adits & tail race tunnel.
The Tehri Pump storage project compromises of four reversible pump turbine
units of 250 MW each. The operation of Tehri PSP is based on the concept of
recycling of water discharged between upper reservoir and lower reservoir.
The Tehri Dam reservoir will function as the upper reservoir and Koteshwar
reservoir as the lower balancing reservoir. On completion, additional
generating capacity of 1000 MW, peaking power will be added to the Northern
region.

Hindustan Construction Company (HCC), the leading engineering construction
company in India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the
Government of Gujarat for setting up a renewable energy park at its
proposed waterfront city at Dholera Special Investment Region, Ahmedabad
district being developed on the lines of Lavasa. This is the first time
that the company is entering into renewable energy business with an
estimated investment of Rs 12,000 crore. The MoU was signed today at the
Vibrant Gujarat Summit.
The renewable energy park will be set up on approximately 600 acres within
the land parcel offered for the proposed waterfront city at Dholera. The
park will offer a platform for global leaders looking forward to set up
research, development, consultancy and manufacturing of components
businesses in India in renewable energy segments such as Solar, Geo-
therrnal, Wind and Bio-mass. The Project would act as an internal demand
driver for the Work component of Waterfront City at Dholera and would
create around 17,000 employment opportunities in the leading organizations
