NTPC Group commits investment of Rs 96,000 cr in Chhattisgarh,
NTPC along with its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy (NGEL) today signed multiple agreements worth Rs 96,000 crore with the Govt. of Chhattisgarh at Chhattisgarh Energy Investors Summit-2025 held at Raipur. The agreements include Nuclear, Pump Hydro and Renewable projects based on Solar/Wind/Hybrid sources in the state.- The first MOU was signed between NTPC  & Govt. of Chhattisgarh for setting up of 4200 MW Nuclear Capacity in Chhattisgarh at an estimated investment of Rs. 80,000 crore. �� - The second MoU was signed between Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company (CSPGCL) & NTPC, pertaining to an intent to invest approx Rs 5876 crore in setting up 1200 MW of Pumped Hydro Storage Project at Sikaser in Gariyaband district of the state. �� - The third Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) was signed between NGEL and CSPGCL for setting up Renewable Energy projects up to 2 GW in the state, at an approx investment of Rs 10,000 crore which will help in meeting Renewable Generation Obligation (RGO) of CSPGCL as well as Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) of Chhattisgarh DISCOM.Powered by Capital Market - Live News

NTPC and NTPC Green Energy signs multiple MoUs with Govt. of Madhya Pradesh,
NTPC along with its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy (NGEL) has signed multiple MoUs with the Govt. of Madhya Pradesh during the Global Investors Summit, being held at Bhopal on 24th-25th February 2025. It includes renewable projects based on Solar, Wind, Pump Hydro and other carbon neutral energy sources in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The first MoU was signed between NGEL and Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited (MPPGCL) for setting up Renewable Energy projects up to 20 GW or more in the state, at an approximate investment of Rs. 1,20,000 Crore. This has paved the way for formation of a Joint Venture Company (JVC), which will help in mitigating the Renewable Generation Obligation (RGO) of Madhya Pradesh Generating Company as well as Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) of Madhya Pradesh DISCOMs. The second MOU was signed between NTPC & Govt. of MP for other sustainable non-fossil fuel power plants at an estimated investment of Rs. 80,000 crore. Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company (MPPMCL), has signed this MOU on behalf of the state Govt. An agreement was also signed between Govt. of MP & NTPC, pertaining to an intent to invest approximately Rs 4,000 crore in setting up 800 MW of Pumped Hydro Storage Project in the state. NTPC receives favourable judgement from Delhi High Court,
NTPC announced that in a contractual dispute between NTPC and Jindal ITF (JITF), an Arbitral Award was pronounced on 27 January 2019 for the disputes arising out of one of the infrastructure project of NTPC for transportation of coal through waterways for NTPC`s Farakka STPP, wherein Claims of Rs.1891 crore (approx.) plus interest were allowed against NTPC. NTPC challenged the Arbitral Award before Hon`ble High Court of Delhi under Section 34 of The Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996. The Hon`ble High Court in the judgement pronounced on 30 January 2025 and uploaded on the High Court`s website on 1 February 2025, has set aside the aforesaid Arbitral Award in totality observing that the Arbitral Award falls into the category of �perverse� and �patently illegal�. NTPC commissions Unit 1 (660 MW) of Khurja STPP,
NTPC announced that consequent upon successful commissioning and due approvals, Unit I (660 MW) of Khurja STPP (2X660 MW) of THDC India, a subsidiary of NTPC, is declared on Commercial Operation w.e.f. 00:00 Hrs of 26 January 2025.
